Ethiopea and Eritrea may have fought brutal war and have a closed border with no contacts, but food is nevertheless very similar in both and very unique. Everything comes with injera bread (rolled into napkin-like rolls), is sower and takes some time to get used to. Then you use your hands to tear pieces of injera to scoop meat and vegetable stews that come in many varieties. Both countries have great lager beers and of course coffee (easily and hands down world’s best)
