Ethiopia: Semera Hot Springs
This place is not listed under any attractions, not much info on google, and it’s not a national park. It’s located south of Semera, on the banks of the Awash River (not particularly east to find as we got Los a few times in the semi desert). But it is totally spectacular and can be called the Yellowstone of Ethiopia. It is a series of dozens of hot springs in a volcanic valley, many of them appear to be geysers, there are deep prismatic pools with boiling water and streams of colorful orange and brown embankments where the heated water flows. Most of the pools are truly stunning. There are no walkways or anything organized here – you walk around at your own risk.
