Ethiopia: Simien Mountains NP – Jinbar Waterfall

A half hour hike through the forest takes to the edge of the escarpment and to some seriously vertiginous views of one of the tallest waterfalls in Ethiopia – the water drops 500m / 1640 ft down from the plateau’s edge and into an abyss. You are standing on another side of the plateau, on the edge just opposite the waterfall and the views are surreal. The waterfall and cliffs around it are also the nesting areas for vultures and you can see the massive birds soar above and alongside the waterfall.
