Germany: Leipzig

Leipzig was supposed to be beautiful and it underdelivered. While it does have some star attractions in the old town, they are all either mixed with modern buildings or are seriously under construction (seemingly everything – from townhall to all the churches – were covered with construction sheets and work was going on almost in every square. With that in mind, St Thomas Church where Bach performed looked awesome, as did the futuristic University Hall. Also many great monuments and a spectacular fountain in front of the opera house.
