Germany: Lutherstadt Wittenberg
Wittenberg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for numerous locations associated with the life of Martin Luther – his house, the church where he fiat was a monk and then lived with his family, and so on and so forth, major historical location connected to Reformation. But even if you skim over the religious implications, Wittenberg is a beautiful little town with a essentially two broad streets and a large square with a magnificent Townhall and St Mary’s Church. There is also a Schlosskirke or Castle Church where Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door in 1517.
