Greece/Corfu: Old Perithia

And the award for the most over-hyped but completely uninteresting attraction in Corfu goes to Old Perithia. Supposedly, this is the oldest settlement on the island of Corfu. The village is deep and high in the mountains and was a hideaway from pirates and invaders for some old Venetian farmers. Then it was abandoned for centuries and is now supposedly being restored and is supposed to be “charming”. Well, it’s most certainly not – it’s just a dozen semi-ruined buildings, one church, and loads of tourists who bought into this “bs”.
