Guatemala: Antigua – Cementerio San Lazaro
On the southern west part of Antigua, there is an old cemetery that is absolutely a must-visit. Dating to 1830s, it’s a huge complex of all-white mausoleums and tombs. You can see every variation of a tomb here – from a grandiose highly decorated century-old mausoleums to an apartment-house style little tomblets. There is also an old church in the middle of the cemetery complex and a newer cemetery next to the historic one, also full of elaborate mausoleums.
