Guatemala: Antigua – Mercado Central
Antigua has an awesome market with loads of fresh produce and meat and even fish, being sold by colorful Guatemalan ladies. There is both a covered and an open area of the market and you can spend hours here strolling the rows of stalls with every imaginable exotic Central American fruit and vegetable on offer. Volcanic soil and climate of Guatemalan highlands are perfect for growing the produce – from potatoes to rambutans. It’s a hectic and busy atmosphere, but very authentic and local!
