Iceland: Langjokull Icefield

Langjokull Icefield is the second largest icefield in Iceland after Vatnajokull in the south of the country (“jokull” means “ice” in Icelandic, so the previous sentence has the word “ice” five times in it). Nordurjokull is one of the arms reaching down into the lower valleys and you can drive up all the way to the ice and then hike up on near-perfect snow as high up as you can make it. It’s an absolute white landscape as far as the eye can see.
