Iceland: Latrabjarg Cliffs – Birds
Upclose and personal with Atlantic puffins, guillemots, and razorbills – thousands of them – coming from the sea to their cliff nests after a day of fishing. Guillemots and razorbills occupied entire ladders along the cliffs, while puffins preferred softer soil to dig their borrows in. Puffins were literally within a hand’s reach at the cliffs edge. Latrabjarg Cliffs are the largest bird colonies in Europe, counting in millions of birds.
