India: Delhi – Lotus Temple

Lotus Temple is a relatively new attraction in Deli, built in 1986. It is a Baha’i temple, consisting of 27 free-standing marble covered petals. Typical to the Baha’i religion, the temple is open to all religions and faiths, and you can come in and pray or meditate inside to your heart’s desire. And while it’s open to all religions, it is strictly forbidden to take pictures inside (although there’s not much there to see). A long line of people gets escorted in and out the the Lotus Temple like on a conveyer belt. In fact, over 100 million people have visited the temple, making it the most visited building in the world.
