Japan/Honshu: Aomori
Aomori is the capital of one of the northern Honshu prefectures and a picturesque town that draws many Japanese tourists. Among the attractions are beautiful waterfront, Aomori bridge, futuristic triangular tower-like visitor center with a 360-degree observation on top, apple cider brewery making the drink from the famous and super expensive Aomori apples, several hot spring onsens, the historic Hakkoda-Mare ferry ship that used to connect Honshu to Hokkaido before the bullet train, and much more. And perhaps the most important attraction is the famous Nokke-don market (next post).
