Kyrgyzstan: Eating Kattama

One of the most exciting traveling experiences is finding really local and really authentic culinary experiences. Like trying kattama en route from Bishkek to Issyk Kul Lake at the best kattama place in Kyrgyzstan (it really is legendary and people come from over the country to eat it here). Kattama is a traditional Kyrgyz food – fried folded onion filled flatbread. Of course, after trying this super delicious stuff, we wanted to see how it’s made and got a full tour of the process – how the dough is made, cut, shaped, filled with onion, and fried. Beyond delicious!
