Lebanon: Byblos
Byblos is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, from 8000BC. Phoenician, Egyptian, Assyrian, Greek, Roman, Crusader, Ottowan – all civilizations have been here. Anywhere you dig – you will find ruins and columns and castles. The main archaeological site has a beautiful crusader castle that you can climb on top for spectacular views – great coastline of mountains and beaches. The entire town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
