Maldives: Flying over Maldives

Part of the reasoning to choose far outlying resorts was an opportunity to fly the float planes as much as possible as the view of Maldives from the airy is perhaps the most impressive part of visiting Maldives. Hundreds of islands, all just a few feet above water with large and beautiful lagoons surrounding them. In many places the coral reef is just below the water surface, spectacular from air. And then there are luxury resorts peppering the bigger islands with overwater bungalows sticking out onto their lagoons
