Mexico/Chihuahua: Cusarare Falls

Two of the highest waterfalls in Mexico are in the mountains surrounding the Copper Canyon, and both are very difficult to get to. The one that is more or less accessible is smaller but still quite spectacular Cusarare Waterfall near Creel. The water drops 30m/90ft from a stone plateau is a single vertical drop into a pool of massive boulders. The entire area is a beautiful pine forest with clear blue skies above – stunning colors. You can explore the falls from the top – literally standing above the dropping water as the flow is low this time of the year, or you can descend a long and steep staircase to the bottom of the falls for an even more awesome perspective and some splashing mist.
