Mexico/Tabasco: Villahermosa

Villahermosa is the capital of the state of Tabasco. While the city is not the most impressive and feels a bit run down and dilapidated in places, there are still several worthy and interesting attractions – soaring two-towered Catedral del Señor de Tabasco, Plaza de Armas square, La Venta Museum with Olmec heads (closed), the beautiful and ornate blue Casa de los Azulejos from 1890, observation Torre del Caballero over the river, Congreso de Estado Tabasco, and more. Enough for one evening’s worth of exploration and moving on. Oh and they got amazing honey pineapple here!
