Micronesia: Rainbow Trees in Kosrae

Rainbow tree is absolutely stunning, it’s a species of eucalyptus – Eucalyptus deglupta. It is native to the islands of the pacific and is in fact the only eucalyptus found north of equator (another trivia moment!). The tree sheds it’s bark throughout the year exposing various hues of green. As the bark matures it turns red and brown and then peels off. These pictures have zero filters or anything like that (like all my pictures). This is just totally naturally surreal…. Found deep in the jungles of the island of Kosrae on Micronesia (see the previous post for the hike recap).
