Mongolia: Ulaanbaatar – Chinggis Khaan National Museum
The Chinggis Khaan National Museum is a brand new additional to the capital’s attraction – built and opened just resent it in October 2022 – a massive futuristic 9-story building of white marble that somewhat resembles a traditional yurt. The museum has either floors of exhibits with over 10,000 mostly original artifacts describing the Mongolian ruler and the history of Mongolia’s conquests from the earliest Hun Empire to the 20th century. The gilded front door is particularly impressive, it is meant to resemble a “paiza” – a traditional Mongolian tablet carried by nobles only. Photography inside is not allowed and you are certainly going to be yelled at.
