Montenegro: Budva
Budva is a fortified medieval seaside town and one of the most crowded resorts in Montenegro. Budva Stari Grad (old town) is in a peninsula and is a surrounded by defensive walls with ramparts (this is Budva Citadel) and inside the walls lie narrow streets with old buildings and medieval churches. Budva is actually 2500 years old, which makes it one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast – it was inhabited since pre-Greek times, and then it was a Greek, Roman, and finally Venetian population center. And these days it is a total tourist trap with a sliver of a very crowded beach.
