Nakhchivan: Ashabi-Kafh Caves
Ashabi-Kahf is a religious and historical site associated with the story of the “Seven Sleepers,” mentioned in the Koran. According to the legend, seven young men sought refuge in a cave during the period of religious persecution, and they fell asleep for several centuries. The site includes a complex of interconnected caves, each having its own significance. The caves have been a place of pilgrimage and are considered sacred to Muslims, well beyond the Nakhchivan.
