New Zealand: Mount Cook Buttercup
Mount Cook Buttercup (Ranunculus Lyallii) is a beautiful snow-white flower that grows only in the mountains of New Zealand at altitudes of 700–1,500 m / 1300-5000 ft. It is the largest species of buttercups in the world – the plants grow almost a 1 m/3ft high and the actual flowers are 5-8 cm / 2-4 inches in diameter. In New Zealand the flower is known as Mount Cook Lily, but it most definitely in no way related to the lily family.
