New Zealand: Otago Peninsula – Penguin Place

The critically-endangered yellow-eyed penguin is well protected at the Penguin Place – a private conservation effort on the Otago Peninsula. The white sandy beach and the grassy area behind it have specially constructed burrows and mini-huts for the penguins to live in and rare their young chicks. During the tour you can observe the penguins come and go around their daily choirs while watching them from a variety of hides.
