Norway: Jotunheimen National Park – Reindeer

The road from Oslo via central Norway and toward the fjords crosses the Jotunheimen mountain range, mostly protected by the Jotunheimen National Park. It’s a desolate mountain landscape of treeless tundra, covered with short bushes and moss. And lo and behold – we spotted reindeer! Turns out – this national park and treeless high elevation mountain range is one of the few places where wild reindeer (Rangifer tarandus tarandus) can still be seen in Norway.
