Norway: Voringfossen Waterfall
Not sure how I missed this place on the previous trips to Norway, but this is truly spectacular – it’s the most famous waterfall in the country. Voringfossen is 182 m (597 ft) high. Huge volumes of water from the Hardangervidda plateau drop here into the Mabodalen Valley below in spectacular multiple arms. There multiple viewpoints from the top of the waterfall, including a pedestrian bridge over one of the arms. Over 650 thousand visitors come to see the waterfall per year, making this the most visited waterfall in Norway. And no wonder – it’s truly a natural wonder of the world.
