Oman: Dhofar Omani Food Recap
Food in the Dhofar region of Oman was kind of a mixed bag. The all-inclusive tourist resorts on the tourist beaches serve a European fare with zero local flavor if not for the fresh grilled mahi mahi. The upscale local restaurants present mostly pan-Arabic (ie Lebanese/Syrian) cuisine of grilled meats, hummus, and so on. More interesting are the cheap local places that may not be fancy but they serve amazing mostly Yemeni dishes of rice with camel or goat meat. I was border-line on an all-camel diet here.
