Panama: Panama City – Metropolitan National Park

The Metropolitan National Park is right in the heart of the Panama City. It is the only protected area with tropical forest in Central America that is located within city boundaries. Several awesome hiking circuits go around the park with viewpoints culminating at the highest points with the highest one offering the view toward all the skyscrapers on the Avenida Balboa. And there’s plenty of wildlife to see here as well – birds, colorful insects, leafcutter ants, agouti, and capucin monkeys (although the latter were high up in the canopy and difficult to photograph)
