Portugal: Palacio de Queluz

Palacio de Queluz is royal palace not far from Lisbon. The palace was built in 1747 by the future King Pedro III, the consort of Queen Maria I.  It was initially a summer residence, eventually becoming a permanent royal home from 1794 until the royal departed for Brazil in 1807 France invaded. Some compare this palace to a Portuguese Versailles, although the former is much smaller, but nontheless very beautiful and ornate.
