Portugal: Sintra – Palacio da Pena

Palacio de Pena or Pena Palace is a Disney-like fairytale palace on one of the high points of the Sintra Mountains. On a clear day it’s visible from Lisbon. The castle was built between 1842-1854 under orders of Ferdinand II by a German architect. Built in Romanticist style, it incorporate elements of different cultures and religious from around the world. Incredible doesn’t even start to describe it – exploring this marvel borderline transforms you to different planet. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
