Primorski/Khabarovsk Krai: Russian Far East Food Recap

This is an epic post because food here is monumental! While there is some Chinese and Korean influences, I tried to focus on purely Russian cuisine and – wow – was it incredible. Seafood galore with fish raw, grilled, smoked; shellfish like Fareastern oyster, sea urchin, and scallops; and venison like deer, wild boar, and even bear. Stroganina is an interesting Russian dish of solid frozen raw fish sliced paper thin. And of course – pelmeni – Russian meat dumplings! Both Vladivostok and Khabarovsk had a good range of top notch restaurants that Michelin is clearly missing on their reviews. And last but usually actually first and last was vodka. When in Russia….
