Republic of Congo: Brazzaville – Cathedrale Sacre-Cœur de Brazzaville

Brazzaville Cathedral, also known as the Cathédrale Sacré-Cœur de Brazzaville, is the main Catholic church in the capital of Republic of the Congo, Brazzaville. The construction of the cathedral began in 1949 and was completed in 1989, combining elements of both Romanesque and Byzantine designs. The building has a very distinct brightly painted blue dome and white facade, adding to its grandeur. Brightly colored ladies and men sang and walked around the cathedral as we explored it.
