Seychelles: Praslin – Vallee De Mai National Park

Vallee de Mai National Park (aka Praslin National Park) is a truly magical place, and is often compared to what Eden could be like. It’s a forest of palm trees that are found nowhere else on Earth – six species of palms that are endemic to Seychelles grow here. The most incredible of them – Coco de Mer Palm – is just straight from Avatar and deserves a separate post (next). Massive palm leaves soar high above you, while rare geckoes and snails crawl all around. It’s like being on another planet! It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
