South Sudan: Konyo Konyo Market
Things have improved a bit in South Sudan since my last visit, you can now walk around the market and even attempt taking pictures. Konyo Konyo is a sprawling marketplace in central Juba with everything and anything on sale – from spices to vegetables to colorful mundari and other tribal clothing. The meat section is particularly smelly. It’s hectic, many sellers are adamant about no pictures while others are welcoming.
