Sweden: Stockholm – Exploring the Historic Gumlastan

Gamlastan is the old town area of Stockholm. It dates back to the 13th century and is a maze of super narrow cobblestone streets, alleyways, passages, several squares, churches, and various historic buildings. Some streets are mere 1 meter / 3 feet wide! Also here are Stockholm Cathedral, the Nobel Museum, the Riddarholm church, and Kungliga Slottet (Sweden’s Royal Palace – will be in the next post). On the edges of Gamlastan are some great views across the water to other parts of Stockholm, including the City Hall building with Tre Cronor on top.
