While the central part is more or less compact, there are multiple sites mostly north and west with spectacular 13th century ruins. First, there is Wat Chang Lom with a beautiful stupa with 32 elephant statues around the base, most still intact! There is an incredible Wat Si Chum temple where a giant 15 meter high seated Buddha is enclosed behind high walls with only a roof open. Then there is Wat Saphan Hin, where you have to climb up a 200 meter high steep hill in 35c heat for a double Buddha statue and panoramic views of the surrounding plains. There is a also Wat Chedi Si Hong with unique stucco reliefs depicting many-armed deities.
