Tuamotu/Tikehau: Pink Sand Motu
Tikehau consists of many small sand islets interconnected by shallow channels. One thing you can do here is escape to an absolutely private island for a day or half-a-day and feel like you are lost on a remote island some place in the Pacific. Some motus have pink sand typical for Tikehau (other atolls have mostly white or yellow sand). It’s an absolute paradise of isolation, beautiful punk sand beaches and sand bars, swaying coconut palms, and aquamarine water. Plus myriads of fish and black tip sharks.
