Tuamotu/Tikehau: Tikehau Pearl Resort

Tikehau is one of the lesser visited islands in Tuamotu archipelago and it doesn’t have the $$-and-bling-covered Russo-Chinese crowds of pseudo-showoff-losers to spoil its beauty (wow, that came out nicely!). There are very few resorts here, but one that truly stands out is the Tikehau Pearl. Stranding two isolated motu islets in the southern side of the atoll, the resort sits in an absolutely stunning setting with overwater thatched-roof luxurious bungalows and lagoon on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. You can just grab your snorkel and go swimming straight off a ladder in your bungalow and the water is packed with a healthy reef and boiling with colorful tropical fish. The sunsets are amazing as well and sky is full of stars like nowhere else on earth – you are in the middle of nowhere!
