Tuvalu: Birds of Funafuti Atoll
The uninhabited islet of the Funafuti atoll are paradise for tropical seabirds. Among the species we saw were black and brown noddies, red-footed boobies, black-naped terns, white terns, pacific reef herons, pacific golden plovers, ruddy turnstones, bar-tailed godwit, and several others. Noddies were the most numerous with large colonies in the crowns of palm trees.
