Uruguay: Colonia del Sacramento
Colonia del Sacramento lies 50 km from Buenos Aires across Rio Plata river. This Uruguayan town is a UNESCO World Heritage site for its old historic quarter and fort. Originally built by Portuguese in 17th century, it’s been later taken over by the Spanish. Beautiful cobblestone streets and old buildings are aplenty. Also the whole town feels in a time warp as there are dozens of old antique cars parked everywhere.
