USA/Alaska: Coldfoot
Coldfoot is nothing more then a camp and a truck stop along the Dalton Highway, although it officially carries the designation of a settlement with a permanent population of 10. It’s actually officially the northernmost truck stop in the world at about 70mi north of the arctic circle. From here, the Dalton Highway rumbles north to the Arctic Ocean. The National Park/BLM visitor Center is also here, as Coldfoot is the launch point for trips into the Gates of the Arctic National Park – the largest national park in America and one without a single road.
