USA/CA: Death Valley NP – Summer Record Heat

It’s probably the craziest idea to get to Death Valley ain the middle of July – with temperature of +117F, it felt like a blowtorch was hitting you in the face with just a slight wind gust. But we clocked all the top attraction – the stunning panoramic view of the Dante’s View, the colorful badlands of the Zabriskie Point, the salt and heat of the lowest point in the USA at Badwater, the salt fields of the bizarre Devils Golfcourse, and the shifting sand of the Mesquite Dunes. Everywhere – signs warning you against getting out of your car and hiking or even walking in the extreme heat.  By the way, the US heat record was set in the Death Valley just a few days prior to our visit!
