USA/FL: Homosassa Springs – River Cruising

As the day gets warmer, many manatees leave the warm water around the actual Springs and swim out toward the ocean to feed on sea grasses. You can spot quite a few manatees, and even mothers with babies, swimming near the surface. Manatees usually swim at around 5 mph, but occasionally can go faster. Manatees can swim vertically, upside down, barrel roll, and even do somersaults!
