USA/Florida: Lake Okeechobee
Lake Okeechobee is a massive freshwater lake right in the center of the Florida peninsula. The waters draining south from it eventually create the iconic Everglades. The lake doesn’t have any beaches to speak of, it’s shallow and particularly swimmable. But it is famous for bass fishing, bike riding around it, and exploring all the trailer-park covered shores.
