USA/ME: Cape Neddick Lighthouse
One more lighthouse – I promise it’s the last one. Cape Neddick Lighthouse is also known as Nubble Lighthouse is in the southern part of Maine and is most visited, despite the fact that you can’t actually get to it. The lighthouse itself stands on a small island just offshore. It was built in 1874 and the whole complex includes a lighthouse and three other building – all clinging to bare rocks of the wave-slammed island. Very picturesque and atmospheric, although the coastline is a bit crowded with tourist trying to snap that perfect pictures (hint – they all kind of look the same).
