USA/NY: Fingerlakes & Seneca Lake

The Fingerlakes region of upstate New York is famous for its scenic beauty and wine-making. There are a total of 19 narrow and long pages going north-south and resembling fingers (more like nail scratch marks on a wall from some horror movie). Seneca Lake is the biggest and deepest of all – 618 feet (188 m) deep, and it’s has the most wineries dotting the shore around it. Viticulture was developed around the Seneca Lake back in 1866, and has flourished since, with the area considered a special winemaking region similar to the European AOC.
