USA/OK: Oklahoma Sunset & Oil Pumps
Oil was first discovered in Oklahoma in 1859 and by 1907 it was producing the most oil in the USA, way above any other state. For the next 30 years Oklahoma rivaled California for the top spot I’m the US oil production, then eventually declining, before resurgence in the 2000s. Oklahoma now produces about 350 thousand barrel per day, fifth of all the US states. 72 out of 77 Oklahoma counties pump oil. So seeing the oil pumps slowly pumping in all directions to horizon is quite a common site here. Especially beautiful at sunset!
