USA/MD: Fort McHenry National Monument
Just outside the town of Frederickburg are the battlefields preserved as Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park. The park preserve four major battles of the American Civil War – Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, The Wilderness, and Spotsylvania between 1862-1864. The central part is the Fredericksburg National Cemetery with over 15,000 interments. Its a solemn and atmospheric place, with small grave markers on the green grass and underneath the big leafy trees.
