USA/CA: Death Valley NP – Charcoal Kilns
Death Valley has a long mining history as in the 18th-19th century a lot of mines were established here for a variety of minerals, including silver. There are charcoal kilns built in the Wildrose canyon, 10 of them, to provide charcoal for smelters. The kilns look like little white stone huts and would be a nice place to set up a camp if it wasn’t for smoldering heat.
