Vietnam: Hanoi – Imperial Citadel of Thang Long

The Imperial Citadel in Hanoi, aka Thang Long Imperial Citadel, is a historical site located in the heart of Hanoi. It served as the political center of the capital for many centuries. It’s a sprawling site with several points of interest – the Hanoi Flag Tower, the Doan Mon Gate, and the Kinh Thien Palace. Most of the structures date back to 1010 under the emperor Ly Thai To from Ly dynasty. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site.
