Yaroslavl Oblast: Yaroslavl – Around the City
Yaroslavl is effectively sandwiched between Volga and Kotorosl rivers, standing on high ground. So the embankment along both rivers is quite large with churches and cathedrals and historic buildings. Further inland is a grid of streets with mostly 18-19th century buildings and some more churches and cathedral, a couple wide open squares, and even a theater. It’s a beautiful town to walk around and explore, with many parks and green spaces.
